ATG Training Topics

Electrical Module 2 (Schematic Based Testing)

This hands-on program covers techniques for analyzing wiring schematics so that a technician can apply this information from the schematic to the vehicle electrical circuit. The instructor integrates Ohm's Law into common sense problem analysis. The program begins

with an explanation of how traditional wiring schematics were used and then evolves into how to use newer style 'simplified' wiring schematics.

Schematic examples from the classroom manual are used to explain how a problem can be caused by several different electrical faults. The technician uses the classroom simulator to practice troubleshooting techniques that will help find the cause without unnecessary parts replacement.

The lessons learned in this program can act as vital links in a technician's ability to analyze electrical faults.
